Michele Kishita has worked with ESL/EFL students for twenty-two years and has been an adjunct professor teaching English Composition to artists for eleven years. She gives faculty workshops about incorporating writing in the studio art classroom, as well as writing workshops to professionals and students of all levels, ranging from high school to doctoral candidates.

Kishita has lived and worked in Japan, been granted residencies in Russia and Iceland, has traveled to Mexico and Peru, and was invited to exhibit in the United Arab Emirates by the Emirates Fine Art Society. She understands the challenges of living and working abroad, speaking a second language, and the difficulties of writing about one's own artwork.
